The Winds Over Bedlam
Weird I know, but a dream of a kite huddling in a tree during a snowstorm gave me the the idea of personifying kites. It was only a matter of time I guess before I began using them to depict what I hear during my day job as a psychiatrist. I used the toy and bright colors to bring some levity and hope to these very common, and very human, struggles.
Save My Back Yard
I’m ambivalent. You see, Country Town is at the heart of my oldest, fondest memories. Yet, I literally buzz with excitement in the midst of Any City’s options. What’s a girl to do? Live in both spots of course! And all was well. Until, that is, the creep of death struck all Country Towns across the USA and threatened my perfect balance. I set out to correct that balance with these paintings of Country Town’s glory. And, mother of all surprises, pandemic migration stepped in to lend a hand!
Currently on the Easel
I’m still wrestling with a title for this new series, Uplifting Women, Women on High…? Basically, women are kicking ass right now in education, business, politics, entertainment and social justice and I want to hail and cheer them on. This first painting of this series captures it perfectly! Plus, my figure painting needs work and this inspires me to end the recent foot-dragging! Stay tuned.
